Vortex solutions in the extended Skyrme-Faddeev model

The extended Skyrme-Faddeev model is a theory which is an extension of the Skyrme-Faddeev model by the addition of a further quartic term in derivatives. It is one of the possible candidates of a low energy effective model of the pure SU(2) Yang-Mills theory, and the results should contain some information in that strong coupling regime. In recent years, several vortex solutions have been found in the model. They are definitely different from known vortex solutions like Nielsen-Olesen type because they are objects of the pure SU(2) Yang-Mills. In this seminar, I shall give discussions especially on the following topics.
(i) The connection between the model and the SU(2) Yang-Mills theory
(ii) The integrability
(iii) The new vortex solutions on the model
