Abstract: I propose to search for Dark Matter in processes where it appears as a virtual particle. Two scenarios are discussed, i) polarizable Dark Matter and ii) Dark Matter interacting with
nucleons. If Dark Matter can be polarized by light, it induces an
anomalous scattering of light by light that can be constrained at the LHC. If Dark Matter couples to nucleons, it can induce Casimir-Polder forces in ordinary matter, that can be probed by molecular spectroscopy and neutron scattering. These methods are typically complementary from the usual searches for on-shell Dark Matter.
