Description:

The course will give an introduction to non-abelian quantum field theories at finite temperature in the continuum and then move to the lattice formulation. The discussed applications are the equation of state, screening masses, free energies of static quark anti-quark pairs and the determination of the phase diagram. A special section is devoted to the problem of how to deal with finite baryon density.
