Venue

The School and Workshop ”New Horizons in Lattice Field Theory” will be held at the International Institute of Physics (IIP), based at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in the coastal city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. (See tourist info at Wikitravel or unofficial site.)

How to arrive

By plane: Natal is a state capital, well connected to most airports in Brazil and through several non-stop flights from European cities. The Augusto Severo International airport is only a 20-minute drive from the city. A taxi ride will cost around 50 BRL (click here for the most recent currency exchange rate with the Brazilian Real). There is also a shuttle from the airport.

By bus: travel by bus is extremely common in Brazil. Be sure to check if flying to a nearby destination in north eastern Brazil (e.g. Recife or João Pessoa) and then taking the bus to Natal combines with more convenient airfares for your trip (see bus info).

By car: see route from the airport.

Visa Requirements

Citizens from most European contries do not need a visa to enter Brazil. On the other hand, a tourist visa is required for citizens of the US, Japan, Australia and other countries. Informations about the VISA policy of Brazil can be found here.
