Simulated Interactive Research Experiments

Simulated Interactive Research Experiments (SIREs) have been developed and evaluated since 2010 as part of the doctoral thesis of Mathias Tomandl at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna.
A SIRE is a complex interactive simulation of an experiment used for modern fundamental physics research. With authentic visualization it can be used as a tool for problem-based learning in the field of physics of the 21st century. SIREs allow an active and realistic experience of cutting edge science.

This website hosts numerous background information in the form of texts, images, applets and videos as well as some tasks and instructions accompanying the SIRE on molecular quantum interference.
