General Relativity and Topological defects

Speaker: Azadeh Mohammadi, UFPE

When/Where: 16:30 PM, March 14, 2018 (Sala 210)

Abstract: Part of the talk will be devoted to Einstein’s General
theory of Relativity and the recent observation of gravitational
waves. Then, I will introduce the concept of topological defects,
solitons specifically, and the ones appearing in the context of
General Relativity. In the last part of the talk, I will refer to an
example of bosonic and fermionic fields interacting with a soliton.
