Recent articles in English-language journals by Brazilian scientists are increasing the visibility of their institutions and of the work being done here. However, the authors' written English does not always do justice to the quality of the work. I examine a sample of 29 recent articles published in Phys. Rev. A, B, C, D, E, X, and Phys. Rev. Letters, by authors at institutions in Brazil, including at the IFSC, and identify the ten most common problems with English that they reveal. The top five problems receive extra discussion, with multiple examples drawn from the surveyed articles.
